The Min-Sheng hospital signed a contract with GlobalChoice (GC) health care in June of 2007. In September GC sent two senior staffs to visit MS to verify contracted medical services in person.
GlobalChoice Healthcare is a health care management company representing a very large number of insured members that are primarily with self insured companies. They assist these members in seeking high quality health services that is affordable and safe as an alternative health care to keep the cost down. Min-Sheng hospital in Taoyuan, Taiwan was sought after as the only health provider of choice in Taiwan. One of the most important requirements that GC expects is the hospital must be JCI accredited. Min-Sheng was the first hospital to obtain the JCI accreditation in Taiwan in 2006. GC sent its senior management team Jackie Woods and Ryan Moore, they conducted a four day site visit at MS and MS continuum of care sites. Under the leadership of Senior VP Chow Tze-Hwa, MS physicians and staff actively prepared for the GC’s visit. The visit was a success and both Jackie Wood ad Ryan Moore indicated the visit surpassed their expectation. They were not sure what they might anticipate but after personally visit the various medical services and thorough explanation by the medical teams; they were convinced that the medical care is equivalent if not better than similar size and type hospitals in the US. They also indicated that MS was most organized and comprehensive in the preparation to receive foreign patients than their other contracted hospitals such as Mexico, Singapore, and Turkey. They thought the physicians had an excellent ability to converse in English and that we have anticipated potential language barrier needs and adequately addressed them. After the 4 day visits, Jackie Woods and Ryan Moore felt very confident that they will be able to convince US patients to receive care at MS. They were very pleased to have the opportunity to come to Taiwan to personally experience and understand how their clients might be receiving care at MS. They felt the time was well spend and their gain invaluable information and experience. The best compliment that these two senior managers can give to MS is that “if they were sick they would not hesitate to receive care at MS”. MS appreciated GC’s compliment and confidence in the medical care. MS will continue to commit to improve its services and quality of care through ongoing collaboration and input from its patients, contractors, and visitors. |
